The Capitol's reflective counterpart is being put out of its misery after infrastructure issues, mold and more plagued the Henry A. Wallace Building for much of its short life.
Demolition began on the 47-year-old building at 502 E. Ninth St. Thanksgiving week. Work will continue through January, with plans to start backfilling and grading the lot in February, said Christopher Sikich, communications manager for the Iowa Department of Administrative Services.
