Boar’s Head Brand has initiated a widespread recall of several cheese items and pre-packaged deli products after discovering the foods could be contaminated with listeria.

The action stems from a contamination issue involving pecorino romano cheese supplied by The Ambriola Company, which was utilized in various Boar’s Head-labeled items, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The initial recall focused on contaminated cheese found in Boar’s Head deli salads and wraps originally distributed to Kroger stores in Kentucky and Indiana, the Nov. 24 FDA statement reads.

However, to be safe, Boar’s Head took the extra step of withdrawing all Ambriola-produced cheese products nationwide.
