A woman found unresponsive inside a building in Slidell on Saturday, the victim of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, has been identified as Kathleen Mitchell of Slidell, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office said.
Mitchell, 65, was found inside the building off Browns Village Road along with a male who first responders said is her son. Both were unresponsive.
Mitchell could not be resuscitated, but the male was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover, authorities said.
St. Tammany Coroner Christopher Tape said in a news release Wednesday that a formal ruling on the cause and manner of Mitchell's death would be made after toxicology tests are completed.
