Oregon joined 19 other states and Washington, D.C., Tuesday in filing a lawsuit to prevent the Trump administration from dramatically changing a housing program and “illegally upending supports for tens of thousands of Americans experiencing homelessness.”
The states accused the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development of changing its Continuum of Care grant program “in violation of congressional intent” by reducing the amount of grant funds that can be spent on permanent housing and putting “new unlawful conditions on access to the funding.”
