The El Paso County Commissioners Court adopted a resolution condemning the expanding immigration crackdown across the country and militarization of operations led by President Donald Trump's Border Czar Tom Homan ahead of his visit to to University of Texas at El Paso.

The resolution, approved on Nov. 24, is the latest adopted by the commissioners court in defense of the rights of immigrants. The commissioners court's statement celebrated El Paso as the gateway to the United States, the close relationship with Juárez and the country's history of welcoming immigrant.
