Sunderland City Council is offering a unique business opportunity to run beach saunas.

The council wants to set up sauna units at the popular coastal spots of Seaburn and Roker.

The successful applicant will be given a licence to operate from February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027.

A spokesperson for Sunderland City Council said: "This is a unique chance to bring a premium wellness experience to our stunning beaches."

Saunas can be open from 7.30am to 6pm.

The council is looking for people to apply with details of their sauna unit. They must also provide a pricing policy and proof of insurance cover.

Application processes for the two sites will be separate, so applicants can choose to apply for one or both.

Forms need to be returned by post and must be received by 12 noon on Friday,
