Maryland will experience a blast of cold weather on Thanksgiving after unseasonably warm temperatures on Wednesday.

Arctic blast Wednesday evening in Maryland

Strong gusty winds will develop across Maryland through the evening. Winds will gust 30 to 40 MPH in many areas; up to 50 MPH in the mountains and higher elevations northwest of Baltimore.

Temperatures plummet into the 40s by late evening and many spots will be in the upper 30s by midnight, northwest of the immediate Baltimore metro. The wind will make it feel like it's in the 20s and 30s before midnight.

Cold weather during Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Gusty, cold winds continue on Thanksgiving Day. Temperatures will be in the 30s Thursday morning.
