CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A good meal can do a lot for the soul. At just 15 years old, Andrew Hackett knows that to be true
“I’m doing what God would want me to do here today,” said Hackett.
He is one of dozens of volunteers with Catholic Charities of Cleveland.
24 hours before the holiday, he is packing sandwiches at St. Augustine Church in Cleveland. He is helping serve nearly 12,000 people this Thanksgiving.
Catholic Charities CEO Jim Mullen said the organization is expecting their busiest holiday yet.
That includes a predicted 6,000 walk-ins at their location at St. Augustine and another predicted 6,000 deliveries to those who are shut-in.
“We know we will do 12,000, but we will probably do more. I believe last year was around 10,000 total,” said Mullen
So that means more volunte
