A kitten is recovering after a sewing needle got lodged in the back of its throat in Glasgow . Six-month-old Ember was taken to Animal Trust Vets in Ibrox after her owners found her coughing. ‌

Her owners, Tamzin and Cieron, brought her to the clinic in what was the "scariest moment" of their lives. Dr Gethin Edwards-Jones, supported by registered veterinary nurse Yasmin and care assistant Rachael, identified the foreign object in the cat's throat and quickly got to work to get it out, reports Glasgow Live . ‌

At some point, the young kitten had swallowed the sewing needle and it got lodged in the back of her throat where she was unable to get it out. An X-ray confirmed the needle’s location and Ember was sedated so the veterinary team could carefully remove it.
