The Delaware County Board of Health is concerned about the recent antivaccine stance and the reduction of national public health infrastructure that Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has taken, endangering children and allresidents of the United States.
Our county knows what it means not to have an adequate public health department, with the most recent example during COVID-19, when we had to rely on the Chester County Health Department to cover our county during a pandemic while the Pennsylvania Department of Health was overstretched responding to the rest of the state.
When COVID-19 struck in 2020, Delaware County was the most-populous county in Pennsylvania, and in the nation, without a county health department.
