FITCHBURG, Wis. (WMTV) -An annual Thanksgiving race that donates 100% of proceeds to a Wisconsin nonprofit returns to Fitchburg.

The Birdie Derby, a 10K run and 5K walk/run is held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 5500 E. Cheryl Parkway.

The family-friendly event gives people a chance to get moving before holiday activities begin.

The event supports Active Youth Wisconsin, a Dane County nonprofit that helps kids get active by providing equipment and clothing.
