A Fox News host ranted against lifestyle maven Martha Stewart for appearing in an ad spoofing a similar spot featuring actress Sydney Sweeney.
Stewart will appear in a holiday campaign for American Eagle titled “Give Great Jeans,” with social media videos showing her expertly wrapping gifts in denim, in an apparent nod to the brand's summer campaign, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” which critics questioned as a nod to white supremacy and turned the actress into a conservative cause célèbre.
"I think Martha Stewart is a legend, she is incredible at marketing, she is a survivor, but could she please give up the Democrat Party?" said "Outnumbered" host Tom Shillue. "I mean, this is the one thing, it sticks in my craw with her. James Comey and all her Democrat friends put her in prison, and because she wants to stay to be a brand ambassador. She's still anti-Trump, she supported Hillary, she supported Kamala. Listen: Grow up, why don't you join the Republican Party, Martha? That is my message to you."
Others on the set were caught off guard by his impassioned rant, muttering "wow" as he finished and surveyed the room for reaction.
"James Comey put her in prison and she knows it," Shillue added. "She still wants to suck up to the tastemakers, as they say."
The former FBI director was a longtime registered Republican, although he testified in 2016 that he was no longer affiliated with the party, and Stewart has criticized Comey, who was U.S. attorney when she was charged in 2003 with lying to the FBI, regulators and investors.
"It was so horrifying to me that I had to go through that to be a trophy for these idiots in the U.S. attorney’s office," said Stewart, a Democratic donor, in the 2024 Netflix documentary called "Martha."
