If they were Republicans or Democrats or nonpartisans, they didn’t show it.

These Nevadans gathered to talk to each other — but not about politics.

They didn't argue. They just told personal stories. And they listened to each other.

Some had never met, some were slight acquaintances, a few good friends.

They were pretty much like many in America.

Nevadans all, however, they spoke the language of courage, predicaments, humor, empathy and conviction in stories they wrote for a book called "One of a Kind."
