HAMPTON TWP, MI — An overnight fire has razed a medical building in Hampton Township.

The fire at 712 S. Trumbull St. was reported about 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Hampton Township firefighters arrived on scene and soon after requested mutual aid from crews in Bay City, Essexville, and Portsmouth Township.

The one-story commercial brick building was unoccupied when crews arrived. Firefighters continued combatting the conflagration into the early morning hours of Nov. 26.

The building was left a pile of charred rubble by 7:30 a.m. It has an assessed value of $319,400

MLive has been unable to reach personnel from the Hampton Township Public Safety Department for comment regarding if any injuries were suffered or if the fire’s origin has been determined.
