WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. — Local police are offering free rides home on what is said to be one of the busiest nights of the year.

Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana announced a partnership with Hayes Beer Distributing Company and Hard Rock Casino Rockford to offer the local community safe rides home on Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve.

Hayes Beer and Hard Rock Rockford are funding the "Safe Ride Home" program. Sheriff's Deputies will provide free rides home on Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

"Thanksgiving Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year, and our priority is keeping everyone in Winnebago County safe,” said Sheriff Caruana. "We want everyone to enjoy the holiday and to get home safely to their families."
