Police issued a new statement Wednesday as the investigation continues into the death of a 12-year-old Maine boy who was struck by a school bus last week.
Rockland police said they responded to a school bus versus pedestrian accident around 2:20 p.m. Friday. The victim, identified by family as 12-year-old Brayden Callahan, a Regional School Unit 13 student, was flown to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Rockland Police Chief Timothy Carroll confirmed earlier this week that 65-year-old Jeffrey Colburn was driving the bus at the time of the crash. Colburn had previously pleaded guilty to a driving under the influence charge back in 2015 and was fined $500 and had his license
