GREEN BAY — Jayden Reed’s return to action will have to wait, but the Green Bay Packers must be confident that veteran kicker Brandon McManus’ issues are behind him and running back Josh Jacobs will be good to go against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

That was the long and short of the four roster moves the Packers made in advance of their Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Lions at Ford Field.

The team released No. 2 kicker Lucas Havrisik, who’d filled in three times for the injured McManus; signed practice-squad wide receiver Will Sheppard to the 53-man roster to fill that open spot instead of activating Reed from injured reserve; and elevated linebacker Jamon Johnson and defensive back Jaylin Simpson from the practice squad for gameday.
