At least 36 people have died in the Hong Kong apartment fire blaze, while nearly 300 more are missing, authorities have announced.
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced the rising death toll during a 1am press conference and told residents another 279 people remain missing, with 29 people in hospital. There are fears the death toll could rise further, with multiple reports of people trapped in the housing complex, which is made up of eight separate blocks and home to about 4,000 people.
