EAGAN, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy has cleared enough of the concussion protocol to participate in Wednesday's practice, but his status for Sunday is still up in the air.

Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed Wednesday that McCarthy remains in concussion protocol, but said part of the next phase includes practicing in a limited capacity. O'Connell said he wasn't ready to decide on who would play Sunday in Seattle, but said McCarthy's health and preparation will ultimately determine his status.
