HAZLETON, Iowa — Independence Fire joined forces with Hazleton Fire Department on November 26 to tackle a serious multi-vehicle crash on Grant Avenue. Buchanan County Dispatch reported that occupants in both vehicles were trapped, necessitating extrication.

Upon arrival, Independence Fire, alongside Hazleton Fire, Oelwein MercyOne Ambulance, and AMR Ambulance, successfully extricated three victims. All were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.

The collaborative efforts of the Independence Fire, Hazleton Fire, MercyOne Ambulance, AMR Ambulance, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol were crucial in managing the scene effectively.
