AIKEN, SC. (WRDW/WAGT) - More than 700 people will gather for a meal on Thursday, continuing a tradition that started when the Salvation Army identified a need in the area.
The Salvation Army expects to serve around 750 people at First Baptist Church in Aiken, while delivering meals to 350 seniors across Aiken County, said Captain Michael Good.
Nonprofit’s mentees organize ‘Queens Giveback’ to serve 150 families
Crown Her Mentoring held its Queens Giveback Night, providing food for families in need just days before Thanksgiving.
“When we arrived here in the Aiken County area, we realized there was a void on Thanksgiving Day for people to come together in the community to share a meal over a table,” Good said.
The event relies on volunteers and donations from local organizations. Noah
