Not much has stopped the Pitman and Clayton High School football teams from playing on Thanksgiving.
The Panthers and Clippers played every year through World War II.
They played one of the only holiday games during the 2020 pandemic - one of the best in the rivalry, a 13-12 Pitman victory solidified on a last-play goal-line stand.
In 2017, when Pitman dropped to junior varsity for the season, it played against the full Clayton roster on Thanksgiving Day.
The Panthers and Clippers played in snow and temperatures that dropped down to single-digits.
And this Thursday, Pitman and Clayton will play for the 100th time in 101 years. The game begins at 10:30 a.m. at Clayton.
