The Winter Bloom Market features two days of free holiday activities for Eaton fire survivors, from hands-on crafts, dance workshops for kids, yoga classes, toy giveaway and a market with more than 40 makers and artisans. For founder Maggie Ruder, the gathering hopes to recapture some joy at people’s first holiday after the Eaton fire.

“Words can’t quite capture what the past 11 months have been like for our community,” Ruder said. “Now more than ever, we need moments to honor the history and character that make Altadena so special — and we need space to be joyful, creative and connect with one another.”

For Ana Medina, founder of Ornaments for Altadena, this first holiday season after losing everything, can be a chance to make new traditions.
