BISMARCK — A group seeking to place a ballot measure to have North Dakota public schools provide one breakfast and lunch to all students has been submitted to the Secretary of State's office.
According to a release from Together for School Meals, the committee submitted the petition on Wednesday, Nov. 26. In a release, the group described itself as "parents, teachers, farmers, and advocates from every corner of the state, united in our commitment to invest in North Dakota's children and communities."
Fargo school board member Robin Nelson is chairing the committee. "Providing school meals at no cost is one of the most effective, research-backed ways to strengthen academic performance, reduce stress on families, and give every child a fair shot," Nelson said via release.
