SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - S&P Global Ratings has assigned an A-minus rating to the City of Shreveport’s upcoming 2025 Water and Sewer Revenue Refunding Bonds, Mayor Tom Arceneaux announced Tuesday.

The rating agency shared the assessment with the city on Nov. 26. S&P is one of two agencies that rate Shreveport bond issuances.

“This is good news. S&P sees the progress that the city is making and as a result has elected to assign a rating that indicates Shreveport is creditworthy and maintains its ability to service its debt,” Arceneaux said.

The bond transaction will save Shreveport citizens approximately $8 million in long-term debt payments.
