ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Forest Park is seeing a major increase in tree planting this fall as recovery continues from the May 16 tornado that damaged thousands of trees across the 1,300-acre park.

Forest Park Forever, the nonprofit conservancy that partners with the city of St. Louis to restore and maintain the park, typically plants several hundred trees in an average year. In response to the storm, that number is set to rise to roughly 1,500 trees this year, according to staff.
