A North East woman has hit out at what she called "appalling" breast cancer care at the University Hospital of North Durham . Catriona McEvoy, 40, was diagnosed with cancer in June 2023.
She explained that after undergoing surgery to remove a tumour, she suffered an infection which caused the wound to "burst open" and this delayed her chemotherapy. Catriona then said she feared her cancer had returned when she began to experience unusual pain - and that she was "treated appallingly" when seeking checks about this.
Catriona, from Stanley, County Durham, said: "The way I was treated University Hospital of North Durham was appalling. It has been horrendous as a cancer patient. I
