CEDAR FALLS, Iowa —

At the Hy-Vee in Cedar Falls, customers are filling the aisles, eager to purchase last-minute ingredients they may have forgotten. The day before Thanksgiving is particularly busy, and this year is no exception.

Ryan Parker, the store director at Hy-Vee in Cedar Falls, described the day as their "Super Bowl."

"Yeah, obviously it's one of our biggest weeks. I just had a customer stop me and say I don't know how you guys can do this. It's kind of the thing that we prepare for all year long. It's like, it's like the Super Bowl for us essentially, so we're all really excited. All the employees are in a good mood, and we're just here to take care of customers, and we do a lot of business this week so it's a great time for us," Parker said.
