The Boston Celtics won back-to-back games after beating the Detroit Pistons 117-114 on Wednesday.
Boston snapped the Pistons’ 13-game winning streak, and much of that had to do with the performance of guard Derrick White.
White wrapped up the game with an impressive 27 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Notably, he exploded in the second half, pouring in 25 points, including six three-pointers.
Detroit’s head coach J.B. Bickerstaff had a front-row seat to White’s performance and praised him for his efforts on the court.
“He’s a champion for a reason,” Bickerstaff said on Wednesday, via WEEI’s Justin Turpin. “And in games like this, guys like that understand what they need to do to help their team win. And he did it.”
