ROCHESTER, Minn.-The Minnesota State Patrol says that between midnight and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, hundreds of accidents occurred on Minnesota roads as the busy Thanksgiving travel season collided with one of the state's first major snowfalls.

Sergeant Troy Christianson, with the State Patrol's southern region, says that the agency was dealing with 218 property damage crashes across the state and 292 vehicles that went off the road.

He says there were also 33 jackknifed semi-trucks.

Sgt. Christian says in southern Minnesota there were 36 property damage crashes and 49 vehicles that went off the road, but that morning there were no reported injuries as the result of a crash in the region.
