A 31-year-old Haitian woman was stabbed to death during a Harrisburg domestic assault earlier this week , according to police and the county coroner’s office.

Shortly after noon Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South 17th Street for a domestic incident. Police then found the body of 31-year-old Violette Pierre, who had been stabbed to death.

Pierre was in a relationship with her attacker, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition with self-inflicted wounds, according to investigators and the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.

As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, no charges have been filed in connection with the homicide. The suspect’s name and condition have not been publicly released.
