Josh Pascarelli’s game-winning 3-pointer was off the mark as the Colorado State men’s basketball team lost to Virginia Tech, 66-64, in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament Wednesday in the Bahamas.
The loss was the second in a row for the Rams (4-2), who won their first four games of the season. CSU will face the loser of Wednesday’s late game between Wichita State and St. Mary’s at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
CSU trailed 33-26 at halftime after the Hokies used a 14-2 run late in the first half to overcome an early lead by the Rams. CSU was able to keep the game close for much of the second half and pulled with a point at 49-48 after a layup by Rashaan Mbemba with 7:08 to play.
