TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Gospel Rescue Mission hosted its 37th annual Thanksgiving Blessings event on Wednesday, offering meals, clothing, diapers, and other services to those experiencing homelessness, poverty, or food insecurity.
The tradition provides more than just a warm meal, according to volunteers and attendees who said the event builds community connections.
Steven Kasper, who has attended the event for almost a decade, said the gathering brings people together.
“This here mellows you out and brings people together,” Kasper said.
Bruce Beikman, public relations director of Gospel Rescue Mission, said the event serves people who may be alone or struggling.
