UNION CITY, Tenn. (KFVS) - A student at Union City Schools who died in a tragic jet ski accident last summer has been forever memorialized in a new book.
Best-selling children’s author Jeff Kinney, known for the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books, has dedicated his latest book in the series to the memory of 10-year-old Jack Gear, who passed away in July 2024.
According to Union City Schools, Kinney somehow became aware of Jack’s love of reading, particularly his “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series. So, he wrote the simple inscription “To Jack” on the first page of his latest entry titled, “Partypooper.”
The school district reported he also sent a handwritten note to Gear’s parents, Crystalyn and Xson, expressing his sympathy. He also told them he dedicated the 20th book in the series to their late
