SAN JOSE – Authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with a gang-motivated assault with a deadly weapon over the summer in San Jose.
The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the 1500 block of Bahama Way, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih.
The victim, a man, was walking in the area when the suspects, a man and three boys, approached him, Shih said, adding that the suspects believed the victim was a rival gang member and chased after him.
One of the suspects pulled out a knife and tried to stab the victim in the neck, Shih said.
The victim managed to escape and hide from the suspects, who left the area before officers arrived.
