Canada introduces new colour-coded weather alert system

Weather alerts issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada will now be accompanied by a colour indicating possible severity and confidence in the prediction.

Alerts will now come with a yellow, orange or red label to indicate the seriousness of an event.
