RICHMOND, Ky. — As families gather to give thanks this Thanksgiving, Kentucky State Police are urging drivers to make safety a top priority before heading out for holiday travel.
Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel periods of the year, with thousands of Kentuckians expected to be on interstates, highways and rural roads across the state.
“Thanksgiving is a time to reconnect and celebrate with family and friends, but it’s also a time when we see an increase in crashes caused by impaired or careless driving,” KSP Post 7 Commander Scott Felder said. “Our goal is to keep Kentucky’s roads safe by encouraging responsible choices behind the wheel.”
