An extraordinarily rare bottle of Dom Pérignon Vintage 1961 champagne will go under the hammer on December 11

An 'extraordinarily rare' bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne, served at the iconic wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana , is set to go under the hammer and could fetch a staggering £70k. The Royal couple exchanged vows in a grand ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral in 1981, an event that was dubbed the 'wedding of the century'.

The magnum - a Vintage 1961 - was 'produced in extremely limited numbers' for the occasion. The bottle is now up for grabs at Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen with an estimated price tag of between €67,000 and €80,000 (£58,870 and £70,293).
