Musician Jackson Browne's son, Ethan Browne, has died after being found unresponsive at his home on Tuesday morning, Nov. 25. He was 52.

"We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time," Jackson's official Facebook account said in a brief statement posted Wednesday, Nov. 26. No cause of death for Ethan was given, and "no further details are available at this moment," the statement said.

The singer-songwriter's son had previously pursued acting roles, including 1995's "Hackers" and 2004's "Raising Helen," while also working as a model.

He was the son of Jackson's late wife, Phyllis Major, who died by suicide in 1976, a year after they wed and while their son was a toddler, according to People magazine.

In 2021, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer told Route Magazine that being a father was his priority in life. "I only had two things that I hoped I could fit together: being a songwriter and a father," Jackson told the outlet at the time. "And I looked at it like this, if I have to only be a father, I hope I’ll know it, and just do that."

Jackson is also father to Ryan, 43, whom he shares with ex-wife Lynne Sweeney.

Ethan eventually became a father himself, and an amazing one at that, said his father.

"Ethan is a great father. He's a great son, a great man," Browne told Tru Rock Revival in 2022. "I love seeing him with his kids. When I see him in his movies, modeling, with his daughter, and being such a great dad, it makes me very proud. It makes me feel I've done something really right in my life."
