EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Now for the Wildcats, they’ve got a brand new head coach in Doug Novsek, who comes from the college level, working as an assistant under Stan Gouard at USI. Coach Novsek walks into a Wildcat program with strong returning seniors, and a group with a goal of a sectional championship. They’ve already learned a lot under Coach Novsek in the early going, and he’s brought a lot of new ideas from the collegiate level. Some ideas though, he’s just ramping up the intensity.

“I would say toughness. We’re five or six deep, so we have to stay conditioned, we’ve got to stay tough. We’ve got to stay conditioned, stay out of foul trouble, and stay on the court. It’s different in that he knows so much more than we’d ever even think of. He’s teaching us so many different things,”
