Renault and Dacia customers have been alerted about a cyber attack that has hit the company. The French firms have issued a warning that personal data, including addresses and emails, have been compromised.
This information was stolen from a third-party data processing company, which held details such as customers' names, addresses, emails, phone numbers and vehicle registrations. In an email dispatched to customers, Dacia stated: "We are very sorry to inform you about a cyber-attack on one of our third-party providers, leading to some Dacia UK customers' personal data being taken from one of their systems."
They further added: "The third-party provider established that your data was included, which means the attackers have access to some or all of the following information:
