SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) - The holidays are a time for gathering with loved ones.
But with more people coming together indoors, it can also be a prime time for spreading illnesses from the flu, RSV, COVID and other respiratory viruses.
Shawnna Rhine with the Southern 7 Health Department shares how you can protect your family this holiday season.
“Well, we are in flu season, and COVID is making rounds once again, as well as other viruses such as RSV,” she said, “So it’s important to make sure you are fully vaccinated before you are gathering with others, especially if you have someone around you who is immunocompromised or has underlying health conditions.”
