Hundreds gathered at the Old Sacramento Waterfront on Thanksgiving Eve for the annual tree lighting and the season’s first Theatre of Lights show. The celebration began with live performances from Sac Dance Lab and Sacramento’s Gay Men’s Chorus before a 60-foot Christmas tree lit up the historic district with thousands of lights. Families then watched the 20-minute Theatre of Lights retelling of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, featuring Jack Frost, St. Nick, and colorful building projections. The free holiday shows continue with weekend performances throughout the season, along with special presentations on December 23 and 24.
