Shaheen Holloway and Seton Hall won seven games ALL of last season.

With a transformed roster and a terrific trip to Hawaii, the Pirates have already matched that win total on the eve of Thanksgiving.

The Hall out-played Washington State, 75-61, in the 3rd-place game at the Maui Invitational, finishing 2-1 at the prestigious event and returning home with a 7-1 record. It’s their best start since the 2021-22 season.

The Pirates suffered through a 7-25 season a year ago.

The difference?

“Just having guys in that kind of fit my personality and having guard play,” coach Shaheen Holloway said on ESPN as he was mobbed by his celebratory players. “When you got good guard play, I think we got good guard play, you’re going to be in games.”
