As the college football season heads into its final week of the regular season, the top of the American Conference standings continues to be stuffed College Football Playoff-hopeful teams looking to make the conference championship game.
One of the games that could determine the title game participants takes place on Thanksgiving night between a pair of eight-win teams in Memphis and Navy.

The Nov. 27 game is a bit more important for Navy than it is for Memphis, as the Midshipmen are in a three-way tie for first place in the conference standings with a 6-1 record in league play. The Tigers have been eliminated from contention for the conference championship game with three losses in conference play, though a win against Navy could help Memphis' bowl-game projection.
Quarterback Blake Horvath leads the way for Navy, with the veteran quarterback throwing for 1,290 yards and eight touchdowns while running for a team-high 986 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. Memphis counterpart Brendon Lewis has thrown for nearly 2,400 yards and 13 touchdowns, ranking eighth among American Conference quarterbacks.
