Coronation Street actress Lynne Verrall has passed away at the age of 76, her agent confirmed. She was best known for her role as Geraldine Spellman on the popular ITV soap in 2017, alongside various other roles in theatre and television.
In Coronation Street , Lynne portrayed the homophobic mother of Drew Spellman (Tom Godwin), featuring in several episodes during her year-long stint. Her character's plot saw Geraldine battling for custody of her granddaughter, Summer Spellman, after her son Drew entrusted the teenager to Billy Mayhew following his demise.
Lynne also had roles in Doctors, Father Brown and the ITV drama Innocent. Her agent, Samantha Boyd, paid tribute to the star in a statement.
