For birders, the winter season is just as busy and fascinating as any other season.

Bridgette Stambaugh, manager of Wild Birds Unlimited, said the cold months bring in the people who like to care for their feathered friends during the harsher months.

“People like to watch them, feed them, and generally do what they can to help them,” Ms. Stambaugh said. “Christmastime is a great time to pick up gifts that are specific to the people and the birds they have living around them.”

Scott Carpenter, director of public relations for Metroparks Toledo, said birding is big business and a big draw bringing people into northwest Ohio.
