Every parent of young children understands the dread of discovering their little one has got their hands on something messy and wreaked havoc. So consider the plight of one social media user who awoke to find their toddler had got hold of some chalk paint and decorated the house's walls, floors and carpets - not to mention the family pet .

Images shared on Reddit reveal the bewildered-looking ginger cat sitting beside its feeding dish, with its head and neck visibly stained blue . In addition to the photographs of the hapless animal , the user also uploaded an image of what their youngster had used - a tub of roller chalk, a variety of paint designed for creating patterns on driveways
