Honolulu firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire in Waianae Wednesday evening.
A 911 call at at 6:24 p.m. reported a building fire at on Kumaipo Street in Waianae, the Honolulu Fire Department said in a news release. HFD dispatched10 units with 42 personnel, with the first unit arriving at 6:34 p.m. to find smoke coming from the back of a single-story home.
The fire was brought under control at 6:38 p.m. and extinguished by 7:01 p.m., HFD said.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, officials said.
HFD is investigating the fire’s origin and cause.
