PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A couple of crooks who attempted to dress like workers were caught shortly after stealing copper wiring on the side of a Phoenix freeway last week, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said on Wednesday.
Somebody with the Arizona Department of Transportation called 911 after learning that wiring was stolen in the area of the Loop 202 and 32nd Street on Nov. 18 at around 2:30 a.m.
When troopers arrived, they said they found two men wearing reflective vests, holding tools while hiding in the bushes near an electrical box. DPS said all the wires were cut from inside the box.
They found a second electrical box with copper wiring stripped from inside.
DPS looked up the suspects’ information and found they had warrants for their arrests. One of them had tools, drugs
